Case
Study: TechTV.com Redesign Final Design: Findability Navigation was a key factor in addressing issues around findability. Local navigation on the current site was small, easy to miss and often confused with the adjacent global navigation items. The new site clearly separated global items into a horizontal bar and local items into a right hand side vertical strip. Using a right hand side navigation elevated content and show branding to the top position on the page, while allowing enough space to ensure the local navigation would not be missed by users. Other findability issues were addressed by creating a streamlined interface to view past, present, and future episode content and placing it at the top of the show home page. Keywords would also become a key factor in the new site and would address findability issues as well as help drive TechTV’s time-spent-viewing goals. Keywords that had been assigned to stories would be leveraged to automatically generate topical areas of the site that pulled related content from any show. This would provide users with a comprehensive view of our content and expose them to content of interest on shows they may not have already watched. Topics would also be used to allow users to sign up for email alerts that would notify them any time a topic of interest was going to air on any show on TechTV. < previous | next > go to page: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 ----------------------------------------------- View other portfolio items: < back to portfolio |
